This session explores the stages and dynamics of fire growth within an enclosed space, examining how factors such as fuel type, ventilation, and compartment geometry influence fire behavior.

Participants will gain an understanding of the ignition phase, fire growth, flashover, fully developed fire, and decay stages, as well as the role of heat transfer and smoke movement.

The session will also address how compartment fires differ from open-air fires, highlighting critical safety considerations and implications for fire prevention, firefighting strategies, and building design.
