Malcolm Hartwell
Malcolm is a Master Mariner and the Head of Transport for Africa at Norton Rose. As a shipping lawyer, Malcolm specialises in admiralty, international trade, marine insurance and all aspects of maritime casualties. Malcolm acts for most South African marine insurers and for numerous international insurers, law firms, shipowners and P and I Clubs. He has experience in claims relating to water ingress, shortages, fires, refrigerated cargo, lashing failure, latent defects and insufficiency of packaging. He has run litigation and arbitration in New York, London, Singapore, Tokyo and the DRC in the past few years alone. Malcolm spent ten years at sea serving mainly on general cargo, bulk, refrigerated and container vessels on worldwide trades. He is currently the only master mariner in South Africa who is a director at a law firm. He has also served as President of the MLA and sits on sub-committees of the MLA.

Andrew Robinson
Andrew Robinson is Global Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright and chair of the South Africa practice. He is a member of the firm's South African Management Committee. Andrew has a diverse practice which encompasses both commercial and the litigation aspects of logistics. With over 30 years experience in the transportation law industry, he specialises in: shipping, rail, claims recovery, admiralty, marine insurance, charter, oil and gas, international trade, maritime casualty response, subrogated recoveries and marine environmental law. He is regularly instructed by the London and SA insurance market on technical marine matters. He has also mediated, litigated or arbitrated matters globally. Andrew is a seasoned and esteemed transport lawyer, ranked in Chambers Global South Africa for shipping.
