The general membership category has been reviewed and will no longer have three different levels (Level 1, 2 and 3). All general members will now fall into one category. The following qualifications/certificates are considered for an individual to be recognised within the general membership category.

Academic

  • Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) or
  • Unisa Elements programme or
  • Inseta certificate at NQF Level 4 (30 or 60 credits) or
  • Intermediate certificate in Business Studies (ICiBS) or
  • NQF L4 programme or UNISA Introductory programme or
  • Certificate in wealth management or risk management level 4 (INSETA) or
  • Certificate in insurance (CII) or
  • FSCA recognised qualification related to financial services or
  • Tertiary qualification related to the financial services sector as per the FSCA list or
  • Relevant 60 credit programme (INSETA) or
  • FET certificate in Short Term or Long Term Insurance level 4 (FET College) 140 credits

Insurance Industry Experience

To qualify within this category an individual must
  • Be practicing within the insurance industry or related sphere of business within the SADC region and
  • Should be studying further in the field.
