IISA - The Insurance Institute of South Africa

The Insurance Institute movement is more than 100 years old. It can be traced back in the development of the local insurance institutes in the various geographical areas. The oldest Institute in South Africa is the Insurance Institute of the Cape of Good Hope, and the largest local institute is the Insurance Institute of Gauteng, with ± 4500 members.

The local institutes operate independently in fulfilling their local networking function in the various regions. They pursue common goals with the IISA, specifically in the area of professional standards, input on education and training and in the fulfillment of Continuous Professional Development practice.
