IISA Sponsors

Milpark Business School (MBS) has been offering management education at MBA level to South Africa and Africa since 1997. In the latest Accredited Business Schools Survey (PMR.africa 2010), MBS was again placed in the Top Ten Accredited Business Schools in South Africa.

MBS is an independent, private provider of Higher Education (HE) and Further Education and Training (FET) qualifications from NQF level 4 to NQF level 8 (HEQF level 9). Their qualifications focus on niche areas of management and leadership, banking and financial planning and insurance education. The vast majority of their students are drawn from the Financial Services sector, although the management qualifications - culminating in the Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree - have relevance across many sectors. MBS qualifications are primarily offered via distance learning.

They have three campuses: Melville in Johannesburg, Claremont in Cape Town and Westville in Durban.

Milpark has recently added a new Higher Education qualification for short term insurance practitioners:

Milpark Business School is one of the preferred educational service providers for IISA

A three-year service level agreement was signed between the Milpark Business School (MBS) and the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA).

MBS has been appointed as one of the preferred educational service provider for the Institute. This means that the Institute will promote MBS’s educational offerings to its members. In addition, the MBS Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance at NQF level 5 meets the requirement for the IISA’s Licentiate membership. The designations awarded by the Insitute are in line with its vision to create “world class skills” for a “world class industry” by promoting skills development and professional conduct amongst it members engaged in the insurance industry.

The newly introduced Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance,  a qualification that aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required by short-term insurance specialists operating within the South African short-term insurance environment, was well received by the Institute and its members.

Other  popular Milpark Business School insurance and financial planning qualifications include:

  • Certificate in Financial Products
  • Certificate in Financial Planning
  • National Certificate in Financial Planning
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning
